For adults, the recommended dosage is 10 mL administered slowly via IV or deep IM injection, 1-3 times daily. Children should take 5-10 mL per day through the slow IV route exclusively. As a syrup, adults are advised to take 45 mL (equivalent to 3 tablespoonfuls) daily in divided doses, and in severe cases of calcium deficiency, the dosage may be increased to 75 mL daily. For children up to 3 years old, the recommended dosage is 10-25 mL (2-5 teaspoonfuls) daily in divided doses, and for those between 4-12 years old, 30-45 mL (2-3 tablespoonfuls) daily in divided doses. Fast-growing children may require the adult dosage. Tablets should be taken as follows: adults should take 1 effervescent tablet daily, while children aged 3-7 years should take half an effervescent tablet daily.
